Organization & Role


The Teradyne Field Applications team is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, driven Field Application Engineer who will work collaboratively with the team as well as independently to determine and develop imaginative, thorough, and practical application solutions.

Responsibilities


Field Applications Engineers in the Solutions Engineering Group will have the opportunity to experience a range of activities, which vary week to week and sometimes day to day. These include:


  • Devise innovative techniques for testing and characterizing leading edge digital and mixed signal devices.
  • Design, debug, and deployment of sophisticated analog and digital test interfaces to implement switching, filtering, signal conversion, and other functions.
  • Develop test program algorithms in C, C++, and VBA.
  • Reproduce customer problems for software/hardware engineering to develop long term solutions while providing an interim solution to keep from impacting production.
  • Travel to customer sites to support Design, Test, Product, and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Assist customers with on-tester operation and capability to build their expertise and adoption.
  • Develop strong customer relations at a technical level to gain further insight into customer needs.


Basic Qualifications & Skills


  • Must have strong, hands-on hardware experience using lab equipment such as digital multimeter, high speed oscilloscopes, and waveform generators.
  • Must have strong programming experience in C, C++, and VBA.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proficient in Windows and Excel.
  • Must have excellent communication skills including verbal, presentation, and documentation.
  • Must have ability to work within a team and independently.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% or greater.
  • Experience with ATE equipment is highly desired.
  • Location will be a combination of remote, hybrid, and on-site (Teradyne Plano and customer sites).

Education


  • Candidates must have a BS degree in either Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
