Your Impact
To support and guide customers in successfully applying, installing and using testing and measuring products for supervising the condition of high voltage rotating machines using a various monitoring technologies developed by Iris Power, the market leader in condition-based monitoring for high voltage rotating machines for utilities and various industries.
There is a vast monitoring product portfolio at Qualitrol providing great learning opportunities as well as exposure to different industries, customers, and places.
You will be a part of the international Field Service team delivering various services to our critical infrastructure customers including on-site expert advice, software and hardware commissioning, and test data analyses.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with customers, colleagues and head office, and to write detailed reports to give direction, instructions and training
Respect for different cultures and code of conduct at customer premises, with emphasis on following processes relating to personnel safety
Good customer care skills

Collect test data at customers’ premises
Supervise equipment installations
Commission continuous monitoring instrument systems
Conduct user training
Provide technical support to customers and other departments
Writing data analysis and service reports
Significant travel (70%)
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
College or university graduate in Electrical Engineering, preferably specialization in electrical rotating machines; and alternatively, completion of an apprenticeship in an electrical program focusing on high voltage rotating machines with confirmed work experience at the senior level
Above-average proficiency in using Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, preferably with basic knowledge of computer networking
Practical work experience in power industries preferably gained through employment with rotating machine manufacturer in a design, manufacturing, or site service role, or with power utility or industrial facility in a maintenance capacity.
Background in working with various meters, digital oscilloscopes
Experience in guiding a team to complete an assignment
Strong approach to be customer focused while delivering the quality service in an outstanding team or working alone
Sound soft skills including delivering training to our customers in a class setting as well as a practical hands-on
Have an international driver’s license and an availability to travel across North and South Americas
This position is for a remote worker with extensive travel
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with using small hand tools and specialized electronic test equipment
Experience working with High Voltage ( >3kV) test equipment
Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus
Design of electrical rotating machines and professional engineering qualification
Some public speaking experience
Working Conditions:
Good manual dexterity, no acrophobia, no claustrophobia
Regularly exerting up to 20 lbs. of force and occasionally up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Mature personality, initiative, ingenuity, thoroughness, attention to detail

Extensive travel, working independently in a stressful environment:
Power station and industrial plant environment with frequent exposure to electrical, chemical, mechanical and radiation hazards
