Mission

The Field Service Technician responsibilities include overall project management to ensure all projects are installed safely, properly and to meet customer expectations. The FST is responsible for collecting and reviewing engineering data for upcoming projects and will also be responsible for reviews of all such data before issuing schedules to our customer. The FST coordinates the QC data collection, construction of as-built drawing details and preparation of the Calderys supplied equipment and specialized tools required for our project business. He will report back details to engineering, quality control, S&T and sales to assure our success for subsequent projects. He will work with customer service and the internal project management group to ensure on time delivery of products to the jobsite, inventory on the jobsite, additional requirements on the jobsite and return of equipment and leftover materials after the completion of the job.

Responsibilities

Goals and Objectives

The primary goal of the FCT is to manage all aspects of projects to ensure profitability and risk mitigation.

Primary Duties

The primary duty involves the management of projects. This includes cradle-to-grave project management, which includes but is not limited to:

1. Developing master project plan

2. Pursuing and developing labor and equipment resources.

3. Issuing requests for bids and reviewing bid, as well as contractor selection a. Generating project RFQ’s and Quotes, utilizing engineering support in concurrence with advice and recommendations made by engineering leader

b. Material selection in concurrence with advice and recommendation made by our technology leader

4. Financial modeling to ensure profitability of the project

5. Reviewing customer purchase orders for accuracy and applicability

6. Developing the installation time frame and project management work sheets 7. Presenting the customer with the detailed project management outline

8. Ensuring proper supervision of the installation, including management of contractors & warranties

9. Ensuring proper billing to the customer as well as payments to the vendors 10. Project completion reporting to senior management

The FCT will provide support to sales associates pursuing all project sales. The MPS will make product recommendations as well as provide sales leads, RFQ and quote reviews.

Profile/Competencies

Education, background, level of experience:

  • Five years of supervisory experience or equivalent.
  • Management and leadership skills overseeing up to 70 employees
  • Must be flexible to work day or night shifts as needed to oversee subcontractors and answer related issues and problems associated with our products.
  • Must be able to communicate with our engineering and R&D to problem solve issues that are determined in the field.
  • Computer skills needed for doing expense reports and writing basic installation reports with pictures.
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills needed.
  • Able to multi-task and set priorities. Strong organizational skills required.
  • Ability to problem solve on a daily basis. Self discipline and self initiating abilities required.
  • Excellent basic math skills including measurements, dimensions, angles, square footage, cubic footage, discounts, percentages, and basic monetary value calculations.
  • Understanding of construction blueprints required. Must be able to assemble and install based on blueprints or communicate views needed to complete assignments.
  • Organization and time management skills - examining and inspecting the work progress, equipment and construction sites
  • Safety minded - safely operate company vehicles and equipment
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • A minimum of 5 years of related construction experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass background and motor vehicle check, and drug test
  • Must be able to operate equipment to install shotcrete, pumping, gunnite. Must have several years experience installing and supervising the install of refractory
  • It is a plus to be able to fix, repair and diagnose problems with all the equipment associated with mixing, pumping, gunning, pre dampening, conveyors, etc.
  • Must pass background and motor vehicle check, and drug test

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
