Textron Systems - ATAC provides tactical flight training and adversary aggressor services for U.S. Navy, Marine and Air Force pilots. ATAC operates simultaneously across eight sites and two continents and comprises the world’s largest outsourced civilian, tactical airborne training organization and proudly provides the highest quality live training to Squadrons, Air Wings, and Battle Groups. SUMMARY
The F-35 Chase Deputy Director of Operations (DDO) is a pilot position that will report to the F-35 Chase Director of Operations (DO) with additional oversight from the Director of Flight Operations (DFO) of ACE in order to ensure scheduling of customer and company operational requirements are achieved in support of all flying activities within the designated AOR.
SCOPE
Scope of work includes providing direct customer interface in order to support and schedule all contract requirements as well as liaise with local and regional authorities for airspace and airfield requirements. The DDO will be required to coordinate with the local Maintenance Manager for all aircrew and aircraft utilization regarding ground and flight requirements. Additionally, the DDO will interface with functional leaders at ATAC ACE and headquarters when required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Required to contribute as an operationally active fighter pilot within ATAC
- Responsible to the DO for the oversight of all scheduled flight activities within designated AOR
- Responsible for managing, recording, and reporting hourly aircraft requirements within respective AOR through coordination with the ACE Program Manager DO and DFO of ACE
- Responsible to the DO for generating / maintaining an Operational Calendar in respective AOR
- Responsible for generating and submitting required reports to the DO
- Responsible to the DO for utilization of aircrew operating within or originating from the AOR
- Responsible for staff oversight when assigned
- Responsible to the DO for adherence to the Flight Operations Manual, In Flight Guides, applicable General Operating Procedures, local and regional authority requirement and report any deviations or concerns to the AFW DO when applicable, DFO, Chief Pilot, and Vice President
- Responsible for all operational flight scheduling within respective AOR and with approval of AFW DO when applicable
- Liaise with all host airfield leadership as required
- Liaise with operationally related subcontractors
- Coordinate with the Training Officer, Stan/Eval, Training and Wep/Tac leads as well as other regional DDO’s when required as well as receive guidance from the Flight Safety Manager.
- Responsible for coordinating all pilot training within responsible AOR with the DO and ACE DFO when appropriate
- Must provide input to After Action Reports for each event outside of normal operations and provide recommendations to the DO and ACE DFO when appropriate.
- When required, assist DO with revisions to flight related policy and procedures (FOM’s, related GOP’s, aircraft Flight Manual and Pilot Checklists) related to respective aircraft scheduling.

- Location: NAS JRB Fort Worth, TX
- Travel requirements: 20%
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Previous formal DOD Pilot Training Experience
- Last tactical sortie within the past 5 years
- Minimum 1,200 flight hours
- U.S. Citizen
- Must Maintain a DOD security Clearance
- Previous Supervisory/Management experience
- BS/BA Degree required
