Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Leading automotive supplier seeking a Financial Controller to join their Plant operations in Auburn Hills, MI. Ideal candidate to have 5+ years’ experience (global experience preferred), A bachelor's degree, proficient with SAP. Fluent in Spanish a plus!

The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all areas of the finance and accounting function
  • Manage administrative and accounting activities
  • Prepare all the periodical tax declaration (VAT, Intrastat, and other US tax templates)
  • Check and verify all the ledgers (general accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll)
  • Performs the monthly financial close activities. Posting of month end journal entries including but not limited to accruals, reclassifications entries, etc. Reviews and analyses the balance sheet and profit & loss statement for correctness and completeness
  • Liaises with internal and external auditors and presenting them with necessary information
  • Supports local tax filings, payments, and audits, including tax accounting
  • Prepares governmental reports (i.e. statistical reports) and ad hoc requests as required
  • Manage the entries related to taxes and prepare the supporting documentation
  • Prepare the Statutory Annual Accounts and Periodical / Annual Tax Declaration with the support of the external tax advisor
  • Update Company official statutory books and registers and draw up the minutes of meetings
  • Prepare the budget and monthly forecast together with the management staff including all capital expenditure proposals

Personal Skills

  • Excellent accounting and analytical skills
  • In depth knowledge of US accounting standards and knowledge of IFRS

Education And Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or equivalent
  • Experience in preparing Statutory Accounts, IFRS, VAT legislation and Taxation
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Excel
  • Working experience in SAP or similar business enterprise software
  • Precision and accuracy with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a team with an international context

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
