Description

The F&PA Analyst is a key member of the Gulf Coast & Rockies - Financial Reporting & Analysis team. If you are selected, you will be providing support to key internal processes and will be a primary point of contact for either capital, production or cost analysis.

You may be eligible for the voluntary hybrid office work (HOW) program that is designed to provide employees with flexibility while maintaining the advantages of in-person engagement.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Generate monthly accruals working with the business to validate value of work performed and/or production. Validate preliminary estimates and interrogate anomalies
  • Present key drivers monthly to the GCR Finance Manager. Discussion will cover spend &/or production for the current period, comparisons to prior period(s) and outlook/budgets, and an analysis of accrual aging. A successful presentation will provide assurance to the GCR Finance Manager that proposed accruals are well supported and accurate
  • Support the business planning team as needed to develop forecasts for production, cost, and capital, as well as DD&A (when applicable), for Outlook exercises for areas of responsibility
  • Manage Asset Retirement Obligation updates, including quarterly analysis of drivers for variance vs. forecast, and annual updates to cost assumptions and premised activity
  • Prepare annual OGD schedules in support year of the SEC Form 10-K
  • Issue monthly spend & production reports to the asset team
  • Timely in-service capital projects to commence Depreciation Depletion & Amortization (DD&A)
  • Provide support for AFE economics, cost tracking, supplements, and cancellations
  • Perform quarterly Development to Exploration testing to ensure appropriate well classification if needed
  • Assist in the company’s NextGen IT efforts
  • Provide routine financial reporting and ad hoc reporting to asset teams/operations managers and supervisors to facilitate understanding of results in achieving team’s goals and strategies

Qualifications


Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, Related business discipline, or foreign equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience with Finance/Accounting systems and data warehouses, such as SAP, Teradata, Snowflake or Essbase
  • 1+ years of experience with summarizing and communicating financial information
  • Advanced knowledge working with financial, technical, operational and management personnel
  • Advance knowledge in financial and operational analysis, including ability to summarize and present financial information
  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and internal controls
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Intermediate proficiency in handling multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver high quality results under tight deadlines

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of E&P (upstream) experience
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and internal controls
  • Intermediate knowledge of business unit strategies; ability to provide relevant reporting & analysis to facilitate management’s assessment of results in achieving goals and strategies
  • Ability to identify, suggest and implement changes and spot trends to identify problems in operations, financial information and asset performance
  • Ability to function independently, identifying and communicating when additional resources or support
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
