Job Summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Nashville is accepting applications for a Financial Support Associate 3; this is a full-time, Monday - Friday (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM) position to work in the TCATN’s Business Office.

Job Duties

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma required; graduate of Technical Business Program, A.S. or B.S. preferred.
Two years of work experience in higher education or equivalent with a general knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and bookkeeping experience is preferred.

2. Two years of work experience in higher education or equivalent with a general knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and bookkeeping experience is preferred.
3. Three years of experience processing and paying invoices, reconciling bank statements, invoicing and other general accounting duties required.
4. Cashiering experience including preparing cash deposits and balancing daily transactions is required.
5. Ability to make arithmetic calculations rapidly and accurately.
6. Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
7. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the students, public, and other employees.
8. Strong customer service skills.
9. Knowledge of QuickBooks and Banner preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Processes and maintains invoices to vendors and/or students.
  • Backs up processing vendor payables including petty cash checks, and purchase orders.
  • Reconciles bank statements and reports from Banner.
  • Takes money and prepare sales receipts for all TCATN’s transactions in the absence of cashier.
  • Balances cash draw at the end of the day for all daily transactions. Prepare deposit slips and deposit reports using QuickBooks. Submit deposits to NSCC Business Office. Lock and secure safe in the Business Office.
  • Contacts vendors regarding issues with invoices and/or setting-up accounts with new vendors.
  • Works closely with all faculty and staff to ensure purchase orders are processed accurately.
  • Works closely with the Financial Aid office and Assistant Director to ensure invoices are processed accurately.
  • Process all payment request worker vouchers including, travel and non-vendor payables.
  • Process mail.
  • Performs all other work as assigned
