We are seeking a FinOps Cloud Analyst to join our team. The FinOps Cloud Analyst will be focused on managing all aspects of Cloud costs and cost optimization. You will solve complex business problems utilizing business process redesign and cloud computing technologies in this role.

You will work closely with DevOps, infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to deliver options and solutions on time and within budget.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for working with the engineering and business teams to understand the future cloud service demand forecast and manage infrastructure capacity forecasts, day-to-day capacity, and resource management.
• Uphold the FinOps Model: Inform, Operate, and Optimize.
• Maintain involvement with the cloud client in each stage of implementation & operation.
• Develop business cases ROI, TCO, NPV in support of projects and programs.
• Develop cost and funding models to support desired outcomes by a business case.
• Responsible for proactively monitoring the financial components in support of satisfying the best possible outcome for different environments.
• Develops and maintains service capacity forecasts, responsible for the day-to-day capacity and proactive management of services.
• Proactively monitor cloud-based service offerings as they move through development, continuous integration, and pre-production, in addition to production itself.
• Review cloud utilization and make recommendations on licensing reserved instance strategy, and discounts for optimization.
• The analyst will collaborate with both internal and external technical teams to generate standard reporting and complete ad hoc analyses designed to monitor cloud costs, security, usage and answer business questions.
• Define, develop, and present standard KPIs for cloud cost reporting.
• Produce reports and analyses from cloud-native and 3rd party tools.
• Implement tagging requirements to ensure proper tracking and reporting of data.
• Write and maintain technical documentation and requirements related to web analytics.
• Preparing presentations and presenting cost analysis to executive leadership.
• Influencing outcomes with peers, technical experts, and other internal organizations.
• Present to internal and client leadership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience creating reports in PowerBI, Excel, and or cloud-native costing tools
• Minimum 2 years working with Reserved Instances, Enterprise Discounts, Licensing
• 1+ years experience with digital data analytics tools
• 3+ years experience with at least one public Cloud Provider; AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred
• Experience with invoicing, budgeting, and auditing
• Experience with large enterprise environments
• Strong financial background e.g., creating ROI, TCO, and cost optimization strategies
• Passion for optimizing cloud costs and efficiencies
• Experience performing cloud cost reporting
• Experienced professionalism consulting with clients
• Strong understanding of licensing and cloud technologies
• Understanding of cloud components and native cloud cost reporting
• Basic knowledge of querying and organizing data

Education

• BA in Finance, MBA preferred

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours a day.
• Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
