Process commercial fish tickets and facilitate commercial and tribal fishery reporting.

With that in mind,

Picture yourself assisting with contacting customers for missing data fields on fish tickets and answering questions or concerns from internal and external stakeholders on fish tickets and the distribution of fish ticket booklets.

This is an opportunity to check in with program leads and biologists to assure data is clean and the formats are correct.

Our Fish Ticket & Data Reporting Assistant,

Verify data for accuracy and key data:

  • Batch new data coming in to prepare for data entry.
  • Performs analysis, interpretation, and coding to ensure that data is "clean" data.
  • Verify data that has been entered by other staff members, to make sure that the instructions have been carried out correctly, and the data is accurate and complete.

Specialized data entry projects using Viking Software:

  • Work with customers on data needs and timelines.
  • Formats data entry screens and conversion formats for capturing data.
  • Converts verified data into a format the customer can use to easily perform advanced data manipulations.
  • Checks with program leads and biologists to assure data is clean and the formats are correct.

Clerical Support:

  • Receiving and sorting incoming mail for the data team, scanning new tickets into AppXtender software, and receiving fish tickets from the Northwest Indian Fishing Commission for processing.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work Setting, including hazards:
    • Work setting may be an open, sometimes noisy environment with distractions.
    • Requires working at the computer and keying for long hours.
  • Schedule:
    • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or other time periods within an 8 hour day.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • None.
  • Tools and Equipment:
    • Computer, computer peripherals, and required software programs e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, agency specific programs, VoIP telephones, radios, projectors, video conferencing equipment, cell phones, internet access as well as Wi-Fi, business hub printer/fax/copier/scanner and postage meter.
  • Customer Interactions:
    • Works with customers on data needs.
    • Handles customer questions and complaints - follows procedures to solve customer problems.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from high school or GED.

AND

  • One (1) year of clerical experience OR one (1) year working in a production data entry environment.

Please Note: College course work in a related field will substitute, year for year, for experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Working with Viking (software).
  • Entering data in Microsoft Excel and Access.

Ability to:

  • Key 50 words per minute with minimal errors.
  • Use 10 key by touch with a keying speed of 8,000 with minimal errors.
