Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Technician
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, hourly
Job Summary Primary responsibility is to perform maintenance on all fleet vehicles and facility equipment.
Expectations Requires high level of initiative, self-motivation, and organizational skills. Must be committed to safety procedures and regulations. Given parameters but works with little supervision. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, effectively balancing a sense of urgency with a commitment to safety.
Essential Duties
- Manage all fleet vehicle maintenance
- Manage fleet program database
- Ensure all DOT vehicles are in compliance with DOT regulations
- Schedule and coordinate all DOT vehicle repairs
- Schedule and coordinate all non-DOT vehicle repairs
- Manage facility pumps and systems maintenance
- Schedule and coordinate all vehicle upfitting and special projects
- Safe operation and maintenance of all equipment and tools
- Follows proper hazardous waste disposal procedures
- Responsible for following Health, Safety and Environmental procedures in the shop
- Special projects as needed

Qualifications
Education/Experience: High school graduate or GED. Strong understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanics required.
Certifications/Licenses: Forklift certification preferred. CDL beneficial but not required.
Driving Requirements: Follow all FMCSA and DOT regulations, where applicable.
Physical Requirements – Lift, push, pull and carry up to 55 pounds chest high. Tip and move 55-gallon drums, weighing up to 600 pounds with the use of equipment and/or vehicles. Must be able to reach, push, pull, and grasp with arms and hands. Will require fine motor skills and daily standing, crouching and/or kneeling, sitting, walking, driving and transitioning in/out of vehicles. Must be able to talk, hear and feel attributes of objects or temperatures by touching with the skin. Required to have the visual acuity to safely and legally operate motor vehicles, close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment – Mostly indoors, with some exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Includes potential exposure to harmful chemicals, dust, odors, fumes, oil and gases. Noise level is typically moderate, occasionally loud.
Language Skills: Ability to read, interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, safety data sheets (SDS’s), operating instructions and procedure manual. English language fluency in reading, writing and speaking. Bi-lingual is beneficial.
Computer Skills – Efficiently navigate a web browser, mobile applications, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams, Word, SharePoint, etc), electronic timesheets and programs such as OneNote.
