Opportunities to work upto 40hrs/week, advance to kitchen cook, or sushi bar are available for qualified candidates. We provide training. For 25 years, ShoMi has been serving the Stockton neighborhood from the beautiful Lincoln Center. We serve casual, family-friendly Japanese cuisine including sushi, teriyaki, ramen, donburi, etc. for lunch & dinner.

Job Description:

· Work in the kitchen - wash dishes, clean kitchen/equipment, stock and organize supplies. MUST BE ABLE to handle heavy dish load & rapid pace during busy times, or learn to very quickly with minimal supervision.

· Basic prep for popular items from our kitchen and sushi bar.

· Opportunity to learn and advance to cooking positions in the kitchen.

· Work with the kitchen and serving staff. Report to the manager on duty

· Handle and store foods properly and in accordance with public health safety, state and local laws and company guidelines.

· Maintain a clean working environment at all times.

· Communicate any inventory, kitchen/sushi equipment or maintenance issues to the manager on duty and head chef ASAP.

Qualifications:

· Able to lift upto 50lbs comfortably, and keep up a fast pace of work.

· Always punctual (on-time) & reliable

· Detail-oriented

· Wants to learn and improve quickly

· Respect for co-workers and the workplace

· Good teamwork & communication

· Prioritizes food safety & sanitation

· Able to work flexible hours

· Professional kitchen experience is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.50 per hour
