Forklift Technician Job at Wheeler Material Handling
- Work independently or as instructed by supervisor to identify problems with material handling equipment and then take necessary measures to correct problems.
- Inspect and test equipment at prescribed intervals of time and usage or upon malfunction or breakdown.
- Install various kits, options and components, and perform modifications as requested by customers on various material handling equipment.
- Identify, disassemble, inspect and/or replace worn or broken parts on material handling equipment. Fit and adjust new or repaired parts, including but not limited to forks, masts, batteries, engines and tires.
- Test-drive new and repaired equipment.
- Utilize schematics and drawings to install components, hoses & electrical wiring.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on various types of material handling equipment.
- Notify customers and supervisors of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action needed and/or taken.
- Use computer hardware and software to diagnose issues with various material handling components'
