Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development of new products and applications to address difficult Formulation Technologies (FT) customer and market needs with focus areas in CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers), Construction, Bioprocessing, Health and Food Safety. In this position, you will report to the Technical Manager, and will have an active role in developing novel products in FT applications. You will work on highly interdisciplinary project teams with defined targets and milestones. You will also closely interact with different BASF research groups and businesses on a global level. This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your flexibility and capability to work dynamically with the highest standards of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. You will also utilize your technical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success

• Leveraging your education in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field, combined with your relevant experience, you will develop novel products for the FT market focus areas.
• Your ability to manage multiple tasks and complex projects simultaneously and quickly learn new methods and instrumentation will be essential in the planning, designing, and execution of projects.
• Your experience with Design of Experiment and statistical analysis techniques will be essential for independently planning experiments, analyzing data, and identifying performance benefits and synergies with respect to overall project goals.
• Applying your understanding of surfactants, polymers, emulsion polymerization, colloids and interfaces, you will develop novel product formulations for FT applications.
• Your laboratory experience and entrepreneurial drive will be essential as you modify existing or develop new test methods to validate performance claims of novel technologies to drive innovation.
• Your unwavering commitment to workplace health and safety will be evident as you maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment and implement and practice quality initiatives.
• Your excellent organizational, writing and communication skills will serve you well as you write reports, prepare presentations, submit invention disclosures, and maintain laboratory documentation in accordance with scientific, regulatory and intellectual property requirements.
• Successfully engaging inside and outside the business, you will communicate results to internal stakeholders and customers through reports and presentations.
• Effectively collaborating within the global organization, you will establish working relationships with technical teams, technical service representatives and strategic account managers.
