The pay for this role can vary from $160,000 to $180,000 a year based on the selected individual's education and experience. Persistent Systems is looking for a Software Defined Radio FPGA Engineer with extensive experience designing and executing FPGA solutions for a software defined radio.
Position Responsibilities
- Architect and implement FPGA solutions for a Software Defined Radio
- Supporting in-house and in-the-field engineering activities including travel to customer sites
- Traveling to test locations, military facilities, and customer sites to directly supporting the testing, evaluation, and deployment of the Wave Relay® system
- Integrating other systems, sensors, and components with the Wave Relay® system
- Writing technical proposals
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or commensurate experience
- Experience interfacing FPGAs to host CPU systems (e.g.: ARM or other)
- 5 years of experience with VHDL and or Verilog design entry, constraint, simulation, and synthesis tools
- Current responsibilities are primarily coding
- Applicant must have a US security clearance or the ability to obtain a US security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Xilinx Ultrascale and MicroSemi Polarfire FPGA families
- Experience with Linux driver development (e.g. wireless, network stack)
- Experience programming experience using C or C++
- Experience with Linux kernel and kernel module development
- Experience with Matlab simulation and filter design
- Experience with both VHDL and Verilog
- Experience with SystemC
- Experience with design and implementation of software defined radio capabilities for FPGAs (e.g.: Digital Filters, MIMO, Demodulation, MAC, CODEC, FFT)
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- Experience developing software for Linux systems
- Cross-compiling & porting (e.g. make, autoconf)
- UNIX shell scripting
- Distributed systems and network protocol development
- MANET / mesh / wireless ad hoc and wired networking
