Do you love Cleveland? Do you want to share the good news on what is happening in the city’s neighborhoods and inner-ring suburbs?
FreshWater Cleveland, an online publication that covers all that’s good in Cleveland, is looking for experienced freelance journalists to cover development, human interest, arts & culture, and general assignment stories. While this is a remote position you must live in the Cleveland/Northeast Ohio area.
FreshWater focuses on the arts, entrepreneurs, historical architecture, and new building developments, with an emphasis on underserved neighborhoods and the people trying to make change.
Writers must have:
- A strong familiarity with Cleveland neighborhoods and the inner ring suburbs
- A keen news sense
- An ability to dig up interesting profiles and angles.
- Knowledge of AP Style
- A clean and concise writing voice
News stories usually run between 300 and 500 words, while feature stories run between 800 and 1,200 words. We offer pay on a per-project basis that varies depending on the scope and depth of the story.
