General Summary:

The Referral Coordinator/Scheduler maintains multiple physician’s clinic schedules, provides direct assistance to physicians and our growing patient population. The Referral Coordinator/Scheduler maintains exceptional communication and correspondence directly with staff, patients, physicians, and other third party vendors/facilities.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Use electronic medical records to complete patient or Physician task requests
• Schedule variety of appointment types for multiple providers
• Communicate professionally with OR, assisting physicians, patients, and insurance companies
• Gather appropriate Authorization for appointments scheduled
• Verify patient medical and pharmacy benefits
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation
• Complete referrals accurately and appropriately

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.
• Minimum two years of experience in a medical clinic or physician’s office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of Epic a plus
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Knowledge of insurance plans, previous authorization experience preferred
