Amerilodge Group is hiring for our next Front Desk Supervisor for the Holiday Inn in Kalamazoo, Michigan!! We are looking for a dedicated, hard-working professional who is focused on guest satisfaction and brand standards.

General Summary

Education/Experience
High school diploma or General Education Certificate is required. Additional studies in hospitality are encouraged.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Must have the ability to speak, understand, read and write the English language.
- Must be able to multi-task effectively in a busy office and public atmosphere.
- Must have the ability to apply appropriate resolution to stressful situations.
- Must read and understand the Employee Handbook.
- Must be able to follow policy and perform to enhance professionalism in appearance and behavior.
- Must be able to compute basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Know and live the mission and values of the hotel brand and company.
- Own Guest Satisfaction Scores: Overall Satisfaction, Arrival, Departure, and Staff friendly and knowledgeable Scores.
- Anticipate guests needs, prior to arrival, and exceed guest expectations. Follow-up on service recovery and score comments within 24 hours of notice.
- Know how to work and trouble shoot IT equipment in Meeting Room(s)
- Own Guest Loyalty Program: sign-ups and execution of benefits to standards.
- Ability to complete all Duties and Responsibilities of Night Audit, Front Desk Attendant, Breakfast Attendant, and Shuttle Driver (if applicable).
- Supervise Front Desk and Breakfast Staff. Complete department(s) schedule(s). Oversee staffing levels and make adjustments to ensure service levels are met within labor model. Ensure that all employees are following their schedule and taking their breaks.
- Ensure department employees have proper supplies and are compliant with all company policies (including Grooming Standards).
- Assist with Inventory and Ordering as requested.
- Assist with interviewing and hiring.
- Train department new hires and cross train existing employees.
- Ensure all cash handling procedures are in place. Notify General Manager and/or Corporate Controller of overages/shortages.
- Resolve routine employee issues as needed and bring issues to the attention of property manager as necessary. Make recommendations to manager in accordance with progressive disciplinary policy.
- Train employees on brand, company, and safety standards. Enforce standards. Identify employees engaging in unsafe behaviors and retrain them appropriately. Complete accident investigations and take steps to prevent future accidents. Follow-up with injured employee.
- Promote teamwork and employee morale.
- Complete coach and counseling as necessary.
- Assist with sales leads, group bookings & pre-arrival group planning.
- Communicate properly and effectively with guests, employees, and managers. Effectively respond to guest complaints.
- Complete the shift work Checklist as assigned.
- Complete Person-In-Charge Responsibilities.
- Assist in other departments: Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance as requested. Supervise other departments in absence of property manager (example: General Manager’s day off) or upon request. This includes making any adjustments to staffing levels to ensure service levels are met within labor model.
- Know and be able to execute emergency procedures. Train staff on emergency procedures.
- Must successfully complete education related to assigned duties and role.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Public, business atmosphere, located near building entrance in which temperatures may vary within reason of indoor climates. Lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. may occur and with assistance, moving up to 50 lbs. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
