Front End Developer Job at University of California San Francisco
As a Front-End Engineer, you will focus primarily on user interface design and functionality. You will work closely with the DOM programming team to identify user needs and implement interface designs. You will also help update the functionality of existing features and triage issues to improve usability for our users. You should have experience using the jQuery and React libraries, as well as the Bootstrap.js and AngularJS frameworks. Our ideal candidate is a team player who takes pride in their work and wants to make sure our customers are satisfied with their finished product.
The scope for this position includes developing and implementing new UX features, building reusable code for future use, fixing bugs and issues, and collaborating with other team members and stakeholders.
This is a one-year position with the possibility to extend.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Experience with one of the following: jQuery, React JavaScript libraries, and/or AngularJS frameworks.
- Experience with HTML and CSS.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge relating to the design development, modification, and implementation of software.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a shell environment, such as Bash.
- Experience with Bootstrap.js, AJAX, and blade templates.
- Experience with Laravel and Git/Github.
- Experience with workflow-oriented applications.
- Knowledge of other IT related areas.
- Demonstrated software repository skills.
- Experience with common programming tools.
