Front Office Receptionist Needed for Eyecare Practice Job at HARRINGTON VISION CENTER
Harrington Vision Center is seeking a full-time Front Office Specialist to act as the first point of contact for our patients where they set the tone for the patient’s visit through excellent patient care. Main responsibilities include performing the necessary administrative tasks needed to create a smooth check-in/out experience for patients as well as being able to handle a wide range of duties while using basic optical equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with an optometrist. - Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone).
- Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
- Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times
- Practice urgency at all times with patient’s time, as well as doctor’s time and schedule
- Utilize existing practice management EMR to schedule and manage patient records
- Double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion
- Knowledge of common fees charged for common visits
- Operate basic pre-testing equipment to perform preliminary visual screening before eye exams
- Check out patients and collect correct payments
- Manage patient flow in the office
- Complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
- General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager
