S.F. Express Corporation is currently looking for a dynamic Gateway Manager to join our expanding organization as we open new locations on the west coast of North America. This role will plan daily flight capacity, pre-booking, and follow up the daily flights with related parties. Does this sound like your ideal opportunity? If so, we want to hear from you!

Responsibility:

• Establishes proper scheduling of people and hours to meet service standards and maintains overall quality of service and movement of shipments at the gateway/service station; thereby keeping overtime to a minimum.
• Overseas the outsourcing costs and quality control in vendor’s site.
• Oversees off-load/loan operations of S.F. Express and vendor to ensure proper utilization of resources and safety precautions are followed to prevent injury to personnel, equipment and vehicles.
• Communicates daily with other functional departments and other shifts to accommodate special service requests.
• Monitor daily performance reports to identify areas for enhancement, audits current operating procedures, uncovers areas of excess cost, and routes restructuring to improve service and costs. Checks for astray shipments, security measures, possible repairs, etc.
• Communicates daily with all levels of personnel (driver / dockworkers, customer service representative, sales staff and supervisors) within the gateway/station to keep employees informed and to foster a team spirit and positive work environment.
• Enhances customer perception of service by ensuring that all personnel are properly trained, ensures that delivery times are within committed time frame, and meets directly with customers through sales meetings, tours, and driver rides, etc.
• Ensures that all DOT, OSHA and TSA regulations are within compliance and accordance with company guidelines.
• Negotiates with vendors and carriers to obtain the best possible rate for space and service.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualification:

• Experience in managing sub-contractors/delivery partners is required
• 3-5 recent years experience in managing an express hub or gateway operations is desirable
• US Customs related knowledge/experience is desirable
• Airfreight knowledge (transit times, weight distribution, etc.) is desirable
• Knowledge of operational facilities management and operational flow
• Knowledge in logistics management standards and standardized operations
• Knowledge of site planning, data statistics and analysis, and equipment selection
• Strong project management and analytical skills
• Strong leadership and team building skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle challenges
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Ability to develop and train workforce and build relationships
• Ability to supervise others
• Ability to organize and maintain progress on several tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus
