Lead Supervisor in the field
The General Superintendent is the lead supervisor in the field for a specific portfolio of projects for Prevost Construction and is responsible for providing direction, support, and oversight for field operations in conjunction with the VP of Safety, Quality and Production. The primary role of the General Superintendent is to protect the company from risk and to ensure that company guidelines and procedures are followed in all aspects of project execution from project start-up through completion. The General Superintendent is the main Safety Officer of the company and reports directly to the President of San Diego. The General Superintendent is a people developer and provides critical input as to the performance and development of all field personnel to the General Superintendent.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who prefers involvement in multiple projects at a time and working in a fast-paced environment. This individual is technical and analytical in nature and makes quick decisions grounded in established quality standards, policies, and procedures.
What will you be doing?
1) Policy and Procedure Assurance
Direct and monitor compliance with Prevost Standard Operating Procedures for the field to include:
- Project start up meetings and checklists
- FCT meetings
- Proper jobsite protection and cleanliness
- Daily Reports, Proper schedule formats, 3WLA’s and standard schedules in MS Project
- Quality controls, pre-punch, and punch list management
2) Risk Management and Safety
- Define and ensure compliance with the company safety program working closely with the VP of Safety, Quality and Production
- Represent company in project safety planning and incident management and possibly serve as safety lead for projects with stringent safety requirements
- Work with supers and ASs to understand the importance of safety and how to always implement safe practices on jobsites
- Verify and continually monitor documentation for Safety meetings and pre-task functions for all supers on their jobsites
3) Technical Skills Training
- Provide support and direction for assigned field staff in their daily activities, and guide them in the development of their skills in accordance with their performance and development goals
- Obtain feedback and input from supers on each AS (and super) to gather understanding as to their capabilities and deficiencies to create targeted training content.
- Develop and administer the testing documents and protocols to assess the necessary skills to advance in their role
- Maintain the library of the different teachings and continue to develop the documentation for this program to be implemented successfully into the future
- Track and hold the team accountable to completing and maintaining safety certifications
- When appropriate, provide safety certification trainings to the team
4) Strategic Leadership
- Work closely with the Project Executives on project related issue resolutions and overall project operations
- Be the liaison between field and office related matters
- Participate in field manpower planning discussions and decisions
- Develop content for monthly superintendent meetings
- Where possible, improve on existing fundamental practices and encourage innovation from the field to develop new best practices and technology advancements that improve operational performance and outcomes
- Continually support and find ways to reinforce the company concepts and use of Prevost toolkit to achieve superior results for the field personnel
Desired Traits
- 10+ years’ experience as a field supervisor for commercial tenant improvement projects is required
- Demonstrated experience as a lead superintendent for a project with at least 100 personnel is required
- Proficiency in MS Project, or a similar scheduling software, is required
- An operational excellence mindset and a strong desire to mentor and support others is required
- Experience in leading multiple Superintendents as a General Superintendent or Senior Superintendent is preferred
- Experience as a field supervisor for building repositioning and/or site work projects is a plus
- Experience as a field supervisor for multifamily and/or ground up projects is a plus
- CSP and/or OSHA 510 preferred
- Cal OSHA experience is a plus

The starting base pay for this position has a salary range of $130,000.00 to $180,00.00.* The actual salary offer will be carefully considered based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for health, disability, life, dental, vision along with retirement and profit sharing plans. *Please note that the full base pay range for incumbent employees in this position can be expected to fall between $130,000 and $180,000. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay overtime based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
