Schnabel was formed in 1959 as a foundation engineering and construction company in business to design and build excavation support and specialized foundation systems. We still do that today. We have grown from a single office in Washington, DC to include nine offices from coast-to-coast where we now employ over 40 professional engineers who design and manage the construction projects in those offices.
The Superintendent/Foreman supervises geotechnical construction projects in accordance with plans, specifications completed within budget and on schedule.
Job Responsibilities
Plan, organize, staff, direct, coordinate and control the construction of geotechnical projects to ensure its safe completion within budget and on schedule.
- Minimum of 5 years documented experience in a field supervisory role
- Safety oriented, working knowledge of OSHA and safety policies
- Able to read and understand drawings and specifications
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Computer literate
- Skilled in problem solving
- Well-organized and able to delegate tasks to qualified crew members
- Self-starter, motivator, innovator, and leader
- Ability to operate a surveying instrument with the ability to shoot elevations and straight lines
- Experience working with drilling equipment
- Proficient welding, cutting of steel members
- Travel as required for projects
Training Requirements
- OSHA 30
- First Aid/CPR/AED
Additional Information
Pay for this position can range between $75,000 - $130,000+ depending on experience. Benefits will be discussed during the interview process.
