Global Asset and Inventory Specialist Job at Ensign Energy Services Inc.
Job Summary:
Technical Competencies:
This position is responsible for managing the assets deployed globally
Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Work with Engineering and IT to develop & enhance the Ensign EAM Equipment Search dashboard to ensure simple functionality; data integrity; and global user acceptance.
- Develop, implement and intra-company yard & rig asset transfer & reconciliation procedures and audit compliance
- Develop standardized & minimum naming conventions for use in equipment & attribute fields in EAM to ensure data integrity. Audit and maintain the same.
- Maintain & develop the Global Tubular Tracker, coordinating with regional tubular managers quarterly audits of Ensign’s global tubular assets at yard; rig; and 3rd party locations.
- Liaise with vendors; Engineering & Operations to optimize asset / inventory control processes to improve identification, location, maintenance and lifecycle status.
- Liaise with regional International Supply Chain Managers and coordinate annual inventory reconciliations (“stocktakes”)
- Ensure that regional international Supply Chain Managers are identifying obsolete inventory
- Ensure that all Ensign supply chain personnel are utilizing (where economically feasible) inventory available and / or surplus in International business units
- Manage the sale / disposal of surplus and obsolete assets, and audit compliance with Ensign corporate standards & policies.
- Provide standards, training and oversight to yard managers in the areas of organization, identification.
- Audit system records.

- Work with vendors to position critical spares and inventory.
- Develop and update a Risk Management Standard for Asset positioning.
Technical Competencies:
- Minimum intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills
- Minimum of 5 years experience using asset and or inventory management module in ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI and relational database design
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Self-motivation
- Accuracy and attention to detail is a critical competency
- Proven ability to research and collate information
- Strong organizational skills
Minimum of 5 years experience in asset and / or inventory management in one of the following industries:- Oil and gas upstream (preferred)
- Heavy industry or construction
- Rental equipment company
- Mechanical aptitude, with experience reviewing equipment technical specifications and parts manuals & schematics
- University degree or college diploma (business or engineering discipline preferred
- Professional Certification or working towards one
