As a Commodity Leader, you will lead all value creation activities within assigned commodities to drive continuous improvement within the KPIs of On-time Delivery, Quality and Cost. Responsibilities will include global commodity management, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and stakeholder engagement for external direct material spend.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) efforts
  • Develop, update, and execute annual Commodity Strategies using Stakeholder input, supply base assessment and risk analysis to ensure present and future alignment to business needs
  • Create and manage RFx's to achieve optimized landed cost
  • Lead contract development, execution, and management activities
  • Demonstrated experience using market intelligent to facilitate negotiations
  • Manage cost reduction and price mitigation strategies/discussions to achieve annual goals
  • Conduct Supplier Business Reviews (SBRs) with key suppliers at designated intervals
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies, as needed, within the supply chain
  • Support product life cycle from NPI to end-of-life (EOL)
  • Lead/assist new supplier identification, audits, and follow-up activities, as needed
  • Serve within the escalation path for problem resolution of supply, quality and/or pricing issues
  • Work with Purchasing to drive and coordinate strategy execution
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Able to produce results with minimum direction
  • Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Operates with a sense of urgency while embracing an atmosphere of continuous improvement
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and have working knowledge of GD&T
  • Uphold Company policies, procedures, and the Business Ethics & Conduct Code
  • Working knowledge of Project Management fundamentals including schedule management, developing action plans, identifying deliverables and being accountable for results
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, manufacturing processes, tooling, manufacturing, and market cost drivers on a global scale
  • Fundamental knowledge of Quality systems, processes, and procedures
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Strong communication skills and competency working with internal personnel and external vendors.
  • Analytical and financial skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in direct purchasing, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with spend and supplier management (negotiations, rationalization, contract management)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with ERP systems

Preferred Skills/ Experience

  • Experience with SAP preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Electronics or Electro-Mechanical Industry
