ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Global Corporate Controller to drive the strategic direction and leadership of Babylon’s Global Accounting function; fostering an environment that embodies the culture of Babylon and results in the execution of a SOX compliant environment and accurate financial reporting to the SEC and within Babylon.

You will be responsible for all accounting policies and practices, SEC reporting and compliance, technical accounting, maintenance of related fiscal records, general ledger accounting, preparation of audit committee reports, and will be expected to provide valuable insights to guide Babylon’s financial accounting systems and automation strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

• Lead the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual global SEC financial close process
• Drive the strategy and execution of improvements in existing and new reporting systems to enhance processes and automate activities
• Develop and mentor the global accounting team with a focus on alignment with Babylon-wide WOWs, maintaining the high-performance culture, effective hiring and proactive career progression planning
• Partner and work closely with our Governance, Risk and Compliance team on SOX to design and operate efficient internal controls over financial reporting
• Lead design and execution of key controls relating to significant, complex transactions and judgemental accounting and financial reporting areas such as Value Based Care, M&A activities and impairment reviews
• Act as primary liaison with the company’s external auditors and other external service providers and regulators
• Presenting and providing feedback to the Audit Committee regarding accounting policies and financial controls, status reports on critical initiatives, and other issues
• Be the face and voice of Global Accounting to the global business teams and collaborate closely with FP&A, tax, actuarial services, treasury, legal and other functions Leading a team of up to 20, including Regional Controllers and the SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting team

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 15+ years of experience in senior accounting roles at public companies, including prior experience as a Corporate Controller
• Ability to grow, scale and automate financial processes and controls within a rapid growth organization subject to SOX requirements
• Strong track record in coaching and inspiring a team of direct reports
• Active CPA in good standing
• Experience of US GAAP accounting and financial reporting for healthcare or “value based care” entities operating in the healthcare industry would be ideal.
• Experience in a rapidly scaling, newly public companies with revenue in excess of $1bn would be advantageous
• Knowledge of Netsuite would be ideal but is not essential
