Brief Description
Researches grant programs, writes and submits grant applications, and coordinates and lead activities regarding all Dallas County grants.
Detailed Description
Facilitates, reviews, and edits grant proposals compiles data regarding funding sources and awards and inputs and retrieves data. Conducts research on potential funding sources and maintains contact with external agencies. Provides timely advice and information on funding opportunities, requirements and procedures and collaborates in defining and implementing project funding strategies. Writes and assists departments in writing applications. Edits draft applications for accuracy, completeness, and clarity. Resolves issues and conflicts with funding agencies. Conducts inter-department meetings to identify and prioritize project needs, and to coordinate and research grant preparation assignments. Acts as a liaison with funding agencies and groups and participates in meetings and discussions regarding grant applications and awards. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in English, Journalism, Public Administration, Human or Social Services or in a job related field of study. Three (3) years of professional work related experience. Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Knowledge of regulations pertaining to grants, contracts administration, and the research and budget processes. Abilities to interpret guidelines, policies, procedures and regulations. Ability to create budgets for grant proposals applications.
