Position Description: Graphic Production Artist, Full time
Salary: Negotiable, dependent upon experience.
Dockside Canvas Co. is looking for a Graphic Production Artist to join our growing Exhibit and Display Division. The designer will be expected to handle all incoming 2D graphics files from clients and prep them accordingly per order instructions. This person should have proficient experience as a layout or graphic designer. Must have intermediate to advanced skills utilizing all Adobe Photoshop, In Design, and Illustrator, CAD Tools, Microsoft
Office products, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint in addition to Chrome, & Safari.
Key duties of this position include:
- Make positive contributions to the team by collaborating to facilitate an efficient workflow and managing expectations of internal and external clients including deadlines and creative product.
- Prep client art files for electronic approvals, design and print production while adhering to client graphic standards
- Assist in managing day to day requests and needs of the Print shop as it relates to design and layout work
- Use asset/content management system, file server organization, and workflow to maintain, organize, manage and archive files
- Able to take direction and feedback
- Color matching PMS or CMYK
- Daily proofing of work before and or after project printed
- Must be comfortable working on multiple projects at a time and have a strong attention to detail
- Flexible and comfortable working in an environment where things may change frequently
- Must be a detail oriented self-starter with strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills who can work independently and assist in other production activities
- Availability after hours and/or on occasional weekends, perform other responsibilities, as they are developed/defined
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Intermediate or better proficiency in Adobe CC software
- 2+ years in professional commercial design, preferably with print production experience.
- Experience taking graphic design projects from conceptualization through production.
- Must have strong technical skills. Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, RIP software experience a plus.
- Knowledge of all aspects of digital pre-press and print production processes and technology a plus
- Excellent communication skills. You must be able to confer advice and suggestions to and from clients both internal and external, as well as understand what is wanted/needed.
