$18 - $25 an hour

Part time catering grill cook needed for varied off-site catered events. Weekend availability is required.

Global Tacos Grill is a catering company in Sorrento Valley that can be found at local San Diego street fairs, festivals, farmers markets, and local breweries, as well as at many private and corporate events around San Diego. We utilize farm fresh produce, sustainable seafood, and quality meat to showcase flavors from around the world. We are looking for a motivated, classically trained P/T catering grill cook who is experienced with contemporary Mexican American cuisine, sauces, flavor profiles, and cooking techniques, and can make a mean taco. (Experience with Asian, Mediterranean, and other classic cuisines as well is ideal).

Minimum 2 years high-volume grill experience required with ability to work well under pressure. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, passion for creative cooking and global cuisine trends, and professional appearance and demeanor for customer interaction is a must. Good English communication skills and ability to work as a team player outside under a 10’ x 10’ canopy at events is necessary. Must have own knives and know how to use properly.

This is a great part time opportunity for someone who has worked all areas of the kitchen, enjoys catering, takes pride in the quality and presentation of their food, and would like to become an important part of the success of a growing company. This position will work closely with the owner. There is room for growth.

Saturdays will be required as needed, part time on-call. Events for the month will be scheduled well in advance, so there should be plenty of notice to ensure your availability, even with another job. Shifts will often require kitchen prep as well as on-site event cooking. Many private events are in North County (Del Mar, Carmel Valley, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, etc.).
