Position Overview:
In Support of Regional Performance & Member Experience 1. Oversee Group Exercise Programs at the two Kentucky locations: Blairwood and Louisville
2. Responsible for the planning, delivery, communication of, and continuous improvement of Group Ex programming including events, signature formats, and pop ups.
3. Conducts auditions, hires qualified certified instructors, on-boards, evaluates, as well as disciplines group exercise staff on a regular basis.
4. Teaches assorted group exercise classes to club members.
5. Current CPR and nationally recognized certification in Group Exercise.
8. Controls payroll costs by increasing class attendance and class size, utilizing the metrics of $2 CPH.
9. Trains and leads multi-unit teams using the Club Connect information and resource platform, program manager, and the employee portal.
10. Regulates daily missing attendance.
11. Communicates clearly and consistently with staff to ensure and enforce Group Ex policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.
12. Attends regional and Monthly GEM meetings via zoom and in person as assigned.
13. Works with other department head leaders in each club.
Expected Results: In Support of Department Performance & Member Experience
1. Cultivate High Quality Exercise Experiences The GEM is responsible for creating consistent, high-quality group exercise experiences for members and instructors. This will include management of instructor teams, schedule, classes, studios, and equipment.
2. Grow Group Exercise The fundamental goal of our department is to provide ‘Results for Life’ to the most amount of people possible. That means a robust schedule of classes and filling those classes to capacity. The GEM will use a variety of tools to accomplish this, including, but not limited to, New Member Integration, Internal & External Marketing, Community Partners & Events, and Social Media. 3. Manage Group Exercise Administration The GEM will operate the club’s Group Exercise department to maximize key performance indicators, know and enforce all policies from the Genesis Group X Instructor Manual, manage Group payroll, annotate required data into Club Hub, and other tasks as needed.
Position Qualifications and Requirements Qualifications – Kentucky Group Exercise Manager· Genuine passion for the health and fitness industry, and leading teams· Maintain Certification A.C.E., A.S.C.M., N.S.C.A., etc.· Active CPR/AED Certification· Ability to efficiently run Excel, Word, Outlook and other software packages· College Degree preferred· Demonstrated ability to build culture and team environment· Effective communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills Requirements – Kentucky Group Exercise Manager· This position has an allotment of hours (varied by club) with a variable schedule; the ability to work days, evenings, and weekends according to the needs of the club· Regular and consistent use of the facilities, including participation in at least one Group Exercise class per week· Reliable transportation to and from work· This position has an inherent amount of physical and mental stress; all candidates must be prepared and capable of adapting to such conditions· This position requires physical exertion; standing, walking, lifting, handling, thinking, problem solving, and calculating are all required and often constant
Pay consists of hourly manager pay rate in addition to class teaching pay rate based on experience.

- Collaborates with VP and RM to produce successful quarterly Group Ex schedule changes.
- Daily interactions with members, including responding to website inquiries, new member contact, and MXM Medallia survey concerns.
