We are seeking a Part-Time Porter/Handyman weekdays, may include Saturdays (4 hours daily, 5 days a week), to become an integral part of our team. The selected individual will assist the Maintenance Staff on successful completion of Operations throughout the 220 Unit/15 Building Co-Op Community. Reports directly to the Management and Mainteneance Staff.

Essential Functions:

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and janitorial services assigned
• Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all buildings including boiler rooms, laundry rooms, storage areas and the upkeep of exterior grounds including walkways and stairwells.
• Perform duties as required
• Maintain accurate record of all tasks completed utilizing work order system and other indicated methods
• Ability to walk, stand, lift up to 50lbs., climb ladders and stairs, Reach with hands and arms, overhead repairs, crawl spaces, and tight spaces.
• Ability to safely operate utility vehicles, snow blowers and other grounds equipment
• Ability to work in various conditions such as heat and/or humidity, rain, and cold/snow,
• Follow directives and work collaboratively with Maintenance Staff and Management.

Requirements:

• Prior janitorial/handyman experience required (at least 3 years)
• Experience with sheetrock, painting, basic construction skills, plumbing, and electrical a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including Holidays and weekends
• Good communication skills
• Highly motivated-independent worker
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail
• Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License
