Position Summary
The Head of Disability, Absence, Life, and Supplemental Health Product Management is a dynamic leader in the Product and Market Management organization, a newly constructed department within our Group Benefits Business. Product and Market Management enhances existing and introduces new insurance and well-being products and services. and works cross functionally to define go-to-market strategies that ensure we capitalize on in-market growth opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to create and install a cross functional product management operating model and cadence, inclusive of regular deep dives into financial results, industry and competitor trends/actions, market feedback, and product roadmaps. As Head of Disability, Absence, Life, and Supplemental Health Product Management, you will lead a team of 10 managers and individual contributors to develop and execute product line strategies that keep pace with ongoing industry changes, allowing Guardian to stay ahead of evolving customer and market expectations.
You Will
  • Ideate, design, develop, and launch disability (inclusive of PFL and SMD), absence, life, and supplemental health products as well as complimentary well-being offerings.
  • Develop and continue to refine a comprehensive, multi-year product and offering roadmap.
  • Proactively monitor marketplace trends and competitive positioning.
  • Develop extensive business case work to illustrate the value and opportunity of new concepts as well as influence senior leadership decision-making and capital allocation.
  • Lead go-to-market efforts in collaboration with State Filing, Enrollment, Compliance, Sales and Account Management, Claims, Marketing and Communications, and Training.
  • Oversee the management and coordination of cross functional strategic initiatives that impact the competitiveness of Guardian’s offering(s) as well as the top and bottom-line performance of these product lines. This includes but is not limited to ongoing compliance work, state paid family leave programs, efforts to enhance claims accuracy and automation, as well as steps to advance Guardian’s technology and systems strategy.
  • Through positive interpersonal relationships and significant persuasion skills, influence actions of peer leaders toward a common goal.
You Have
  • A minimum of 10+ years in non-medical, ancillary benefits. Group Benefits experience preferred.
  • Leadership accountability for developing and implementing overall enterprise business strategies and operational efforts including tools, technologies, training, and departmental initiatives.
  • Ability to lead while adapting to changing business priorities and environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong executive presence and public speaking skills including presentation to senior leadership, as well as field stakeholders.
  • Consistent track record of exceptional performance, having delivered quantifiable impact on company revenue and profitability.
  • Proven execution-oriented people leader with exceptional ability to hire and inspire teams creating high performance.
Location
  • Greater Boston, Metro New York area (NY, CT, NJ), Bethlehem, PA in a hybrid work arrangement.

Salary Range
$167,970.00 - $311,940.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
