Job purpose
The Principal & Site Administrator leads the school team to success in our Three Pillars: Onboard Strength, Academic Strength, and Career Readiness Strength. First and foremost, he or she is a ?people person? who leads the school team to recruit and retain a full student enrollment throughout the year. With full enrollment, the Principal & Site Administrator also ensures a quality educational experience, and guides students into promising job and career pathways.
Primary responsibilities include:
? Onboard Strength:
o Lead by example in the team effort of achieving full enrollment each summer.
o Maintain enrollment throughout the year through active retention efforts.
o Improve upon existing recruiting methods and develop new channels by spending significant time in your community with high school counselors, service agencies, and many other community resources that serve students who need to recover credits and find a safe and positive place to complete high school.
? Academic Strength:
o Achieve ?Meets Standard? or ?Exceeds Standard? on the annual Ohio community school report card.
o Ensure that the academic program is engaging and serves the student?s needs for timely graduation and essential career-ready skills in reading, writing, and math.
o Collaborate with FusionEd?s network leadership to train your team in academic practices that maintain a quality, effective program.
? Career Readiness Strength:
o Guide students into promising job and career pathways as an integral part of their path to graduation and beyond.
o Collaborate with CTE staff in outreach to local employers to further develop job skills training at school and at work locations to simultaneously fulfill academic credits, work credit hours, pre-apprenticeship, and externship requirements.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
? Collaborate closely with Central Support on Special Education services (i.e. IEP, MFE/ETR and IAT).
? Create a positive and professional school environment that welcomes learners and their families.
? Make regular student home visits to support students and families who are struggling with attendance and progress.
? Route inquiries and requests to or from board members, sponsors, and Ohio Department of Education to the Superintendent or appropriate member of FusionEd Central Support team.
? In cooperation with the Central Support team, submit required compliance documentation to all stakeholders in a satisfactory and timely manner.
? Administer operational, academic, and personnel policies with the support of FusionEd Central Support team.
? Maintain discipline and the school?s Code of Conduct in all applicable situations.
? Evaluate the performance of all school site employees in assigned duties.
? Ensure that all standardized tests and state-mandated tests are administered in a secure environment.
? Coordinate Response to Intervention (RTI).
? As an ambassador between the school, FusionEd, and the local community, maintain a positive and professional reputation.
? Collaborate with FusionEd Central Support team to manage key budget areas and expense card accounts, complying with all expense handling and reporting.
? Work with FusionEd Central Support team, Superintendent, and others to coordinate professional development, teacher-based teams and staff in-service.
? Attend regular Principal & Site Administrator?s training, mentorship, and support meetings.
? Perform all other duties as assigned
