High School Vice Principal
Full-Time, Exempt, Category 2 (12-month position)

Reports to Associate Head School for Spiritual Life/High School Principal
The High School Vice Principal reports directly to the High School Principal and assumes supervision on behalf of or in the absence of the Principal. At the discretion of the Principal, specific responsibilities and latitude of independent action will vary, but the position will assist in the administration of the school and provide leadership over student life and campus operations. The Vice Principal will assist in the formulation of policies, organizational plans, goals and objectives in order to develop and maintain an educationally effective school of excellence.
The role of the Vice Principal includes leading the student life office, collaborating with the spiritual life office, master calendaring, staff development and instructional leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with the Principal to discuss the implementation of school culture, policies and programs.
  • Assist the Principal in supervising and evaluating all faculty and staff.
  • Assist the Principal in assigning teachers to supervision duties.
  • Collaborate with the Spiritual Life Office to plan and lead service trips, student retreats, service day and chapel programming.
  • Oversee the summer school program for the Middle School and High School.
  • Supervise the Office of Student Life (Deans, Student Activities Director, Administrative Assistants and Front Receptionist).
  • Oversee the Office of Student Life in creating student programs and activities that furthers the mission and vision of the school.
  • Assist the Principal in communicating with the parent community and faculty/staff.
  • Prepare reports for the Principal to present to the Head of School.
  • Oversee the substitute teacher hiring and training.
  • Collaborate with the Academic Dean to submit a master schedule with FTEs for the Principal.
  • Meet with teachers, students, parents/guardians as needed.
  • Lead the student life office in onboarding freshmen and new student orientation for incoming students.
  • Assume responsibility for coordinating student/teacher and student/observer assignments.
  • Maintain an effective, positive working relationship with staff.
  • Assist the Principal in planning faculty meetings.
  • Assist the Principal in planning high school leadership meetings.
  • Collaborate with the student support team with SEL and Academic Support Programs.
  • Assist the Principal with Academic Probation meetings.
  • Prepare and submit all reports, as requested by Principal.
  • Portray an effective role model for staff, students, parents/guardians, community members.
  • Be knowledgeable of new educational trends and develop programming for the school.
  • Assist the Principal in writing Professional Growth Plans for faculty and staff.
  • Demonstrate strategic planning skills.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and other online platforms
  • Commitment to a lifestyle above reproach in line with OCS Statement of Faith and Biblical Worldview.
