What We Are Looking For: *
We are currently looking for a Hospice Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to provide care to our patients in San Diego County.
Qualifications:
*
Must meet educational/experience requirements outlined in the laws of licensure states.
- Certified/licensed and in good standing within state currently working in according to clinical type.
- Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health. Presents a pre-employment physician's health clearance, including negative TB skin tests and/or CX and other tests as required by specific state statute.
- Has the ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
- Is self-directing and has the ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
- Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling the role obligations.
- Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
- Is a licensed driver and has an automobile that is insured in accordance with Lorian Health (LORIAN) requirements

Job Summary*
The HHA is a paraprofessional member of the care team who works under the supervision of an RN/therapist and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patients/ client’s needs. The HHA is responsible for observing patients/clients, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed. The HHA will be assigned in a manner which promotes quality, continuity, and safety of patient/client care.

Responsibilities: *
Responsibilities of the HHA include, but are not limited to, the following:
Providing personal care including:
*
Baths
- Back rubs
- Oral hygiene
- Shampoos
- Changing bed linens
- Dressing and undressing patients/clients
- Skin care and prevention of skin breakdown
- Toileting activities
- Keeping patients/clients living area clean and orderly, as appropriate
Other Duties Include:
- Planning and preparing nutritional meals.
- Assisting in feeding the patient/client, if necessary.
- Taking and recording oral, rectal, and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered (within the training limitations of the aide).
- Assisting in ambulation and exercise according to the POC.
- Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (within the training limitations of the aide).
- Assisting patient/client in the self-administration of medication.
- Washing patients/clients laundry, as appropriate.
- Meeting safety needs of patients/clients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, restraints, etc.)
- Reporting on patients/clients condition and significant changes to the assigned supervisory nurse and case manager.
- Adhering to LORIAN'S documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conducts.

Job Limitations*
The HHA will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing according to the
State's Nursing Practice Act. Specifically, the HA will not administer medications, take physician's orders or perform procedures requiring the training, knowledge and skill of a nurse, specifically sterile techniques.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
