As a team member of Radiology Physics, you will be responsible for the continued development, implementation, and maintenance of our clinical physics program in support diagnostic imaging modalities across multiple departments throughout UCLA Health. This position has an emphasis on Magnetic Resonance imaging accreditation, safety and education across more than 23 hospital and outpatient MRI clinical sites. You will also support the evaluation and calibration of ionizing imaging equipment, including projectional X-ray, mammography, fluoroscopy, and computed tomography. Other activities will include the assessment and standardization of image quality, shielding design, and radiation dosimetry. This role involves regular interaction with government, accrediting bodies, professional organizations, and university and hospital departments.

Salary range: $216525.60-$285763.68 Annual

Qualifications

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, American Board of Radiology certified/eligible radiology professional with:

  • Master’s degree in medical physics - PhD preferred
  • Knowledge of radiation physics, dosimetry, biology, and shielding
  • Ability to assess/resolve issues with radiation-producing/imaging equipment
  • Ability to teach medical/radiologic physics (e.g., develop lesson plans, presentations, and evaluation tools)
  • Background with hospital and radiology information systems (e.g., PACS, EPIC, Radiant, etc.)
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, as well as physics, analysis (e.g., Matlab), and dosimetry software
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with ancillary image receptor systems
  • Experience with CT scanners, radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment, interventional angiographic and cardiac cath labs
  • Expertise with mammography and magnetic resonance imaging systems
  • Practical MRI experience desired
  • Understanding of medical anatomy and physiology
