Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
To assist in the daily operation of the Food and Beverage Department by delivering island hospitality to our guest, by directing guests to the appropriate area and receive cash, credit cards or meal coupons from guests in payment for food and beverage services.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Handle cash, credit or check transactions with customers. Ensure closing payment is correct. Receive and visually inspect guest checks for accuracy, then close the check to the proper method of payment (i.e. cash, credit card, room charge, permanent master for meal coupons). Issue change, receipts or refunds
Redeem vouchers and coupons. Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
Keep reports of transactions. Retrieve and return bank from vault to workstation, to ensure accountability

Acknowledge every guest with a prompt, friendly and personalized greeting.
Answer the hotel restaurant phone within three (3) rings. Use proper phone etiquette when dealing with guests on the phone.
Ensure guest reservations are in proper order.
Accommodate our guests to their seating area. Present and open menu for guest. Notify guest who their host will be and wish the guest a pleasant meal.
Learn all table numbers and waitstaff station breakdowns. Clean and organize menus at the beginning and end of each shift.
Perform all assigned opening, running and closing duties.
Assist supervisors/managers in maintaining standards by reporting any problems in your surroundings (i.e. surrounding work areas clean, are all guest needs met?). Act as a role model to co-workers by displaying a high level of professionalism and integrity. Answer customers' questions and get a manager if answer doesn't solve the issue
