Summary:

Administer to the operational needs and guest requests for service at the SouthWind Casino bar by providing satisfactory beverage service while maintaining adequate supplies of garnish, glassware, ice, liquor, and other food products at assigned work station.

Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. and must be 21. Requires a minimum of one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic knowledge of this position preferred, and must obtain a license to serve alcohol, able to pass extensive background check in accordance with Kaw Nation Gaming Commission regulations to obtain gaming license. To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations and a minimum of one, year experience in cash handling position. Have strong analytical and problem, solving skills required in addition to experience with computer POS systems and 10-key ability. Candidate must be proficient in mixing cocktails, tapping kegs, and have some basic food preparation skills. Superior verbal/written skills and interaction skills will be needed to fully perform job function with ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Job Purpose:

The incumbent in this position is responsible to promote positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Promote SouthWind Casino in a positive manner.

• Ensure that all patrons purchasing alcohol products are of legal drinking age.
• Monitor quantity of alcoholic drinks being consumed by patrons. Immediately report any guest who has over indulged to Security or the Manager on Duty/Designee.
• Retrieve product from storeroom.
• Visually check stock received against written requisition with storeroom personnel to insure the order is accurate.
• Upon delivery to the bar, recheck items with another F&B employee for completeness.
• Check with and maintain adequate amounts of supplies i.e. straw’s, stir sticks, napkins, and matches etc. for workstation.
• Additional duties include rotation beer and fill reach in refrigerators, washing and stocking glassware, maintain stock of fruit fill and replace as needed.
• Fill ice bins, empty garbage, replace trash liners, wipe and pick up surfaces as time allows, check kegs, replace dirty bar mats, sweep floors, clean screens in glass washer, wipe down bottles, clean spouts, clean beer drains, gun drains, counter drains and ice bins.
• Wash floors.
• Cut slice and peel perishable garnishes and fruits.
• Maintain mix and pour juice, sufficient amount according to projected business.
• Store back up supplies needing refrigeration in prescribed containers for later use.
• Scoop ice from bins, transport to service areas and replenish ice containers.
• Box and save empty liquor bottles as they accumulate for later returns and requisitions.
• Transport taps, replace and perform routine maintenance requirements on heavy beer kegs.
• Obtain change for servers upon request.
• Check station before, after and during shift to insure proper setup and cleanliness are maintained.
• Accountable for all daily cash transactions and maintaining proper procedures for opening/closing, recording and depositing of money are being followed.
• Maintains the highest quality standards in all areas of guest service and hospitality to comply with Company and department guest service standards for internal and external guests.
• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming and alcohol regulations (Federal, Kaw Nation, etc.) and cash handling requirements as well as SouthWind Casino internal controls.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ensure full compliance with KGI policies and procedures.
• Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
• Maintains a professional work environment with staff.
• Attend all meetings when requested.
• Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
• Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with guests, management, employees, and members and members of the business community in all situations.
• Position may require working nights, weekends and holidays as required and is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
• May be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• The team member frequently is required to stand, sit and/or walk for long periods of time.
• Physical Demands are: Use of hands to finger; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Vision abilities require distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Ensures that exceptional internal and external guest service standards are always number one.
• Be courteous and professional at all, times to co-workers, guests, vendors or anyone you may have contact with while on duty.

Must wear your gaming badge at all, times while on duty or conducting company business in the casino.
