Hourly Communications Lead
The Communications Lead position creates and leads the communications strategy for the Ottawa Operations.
Create and collaborate communications plans for U.S. plants to inform, engage and drive action of employees. Including Ottawa specific storytelling.
Create messages for all employee-facing internal communications.
Create written and visual content for our internal communications platform and app: WHR360.
Own and publish content for the Ottawa Operations channel and Manufacturing Supply Chain channel to promote Ottawa activities and achievements.
Support plant leadership with written communications and event planning.
Collaborate with the Global Communications Team and with the U.S. based plant communications leaders to drive internal communication strategy, campaigns and business goals through shared content.
Lead change management, create strategy and utilize change tools and to drive changes within the plant with support from key stakeholders and leadership.
Photograph and document employee events and visitors at the plant for publication and/or creation of visual storytelling and videos used for internal presentations and employee communications.
Take photos of Ottawa events and employees for communications, campaigns and internal visual projects and promotions.
Lead visual communication through internal banners and video creation to execute manufacturing strategies related to WCM (World Class Manufacturing) methodology.
Publish a plant newsletter twice a week to inform employees of local, regional and global activities, policies, events, changes and reminders.
Manage crisis communication system (Everbridge) for Ottawa Operations.
Support presentation preparation for employee meetings, visitor presentations, corporate operations reviews, and public presentations.
Organize employee, visitor and public events for the Ottawa Operations.
Responsible for community and public relations pertaining to Ottawa Operations and donations within the local community including leading the plant’s yearly United Way campaign, attending Chamber of Commerce meetings, and miscellaneous community events as requested.
Organize major public announcements and activities working with our Corporate Communications team.
Maintain bulletin boards and video bulletin boards within the plant.
Maintain master distribution lists and calendar events
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma
2+ years of college education
2+ years of professional experience writing newsletters, creating marketing materials and web content in a Communications environment
Experience working in the Google Suites
Ability to provide a writing sample
Preferred Requirements
Experience in photography
Ability to create and edit videos
Problem solving, self-starter, deadline oriented, positive attitude, continuous improvement focused, ability to work independently, ability to work well with multiple levels of management
Ability to work efficiently under deadline with multiple projects
Experience in project management
