Job Description


The attendant is responsible for the deep cleaning of guestrooms and the general upkeep of the public space and back of house areas following scheduled rounds to ensure the cleanliness of the overall hotel is maintained.


Objectives

Attend to guests’ needs and cleanliness of the complex


Essential functions of Housekeeping attendant:

  • Sweep and wash floors, vacuum carpet, wash walls, dust furniture and fixtures and clean any ashtrays.

  • Assure elevator tracks and doors are wiped down and cleaned on a normal rotation.

  • Ensure all glass doors and windows are cleaned and maintained.

  • Responsible for the cleaning of the fountain, restrooms and kiosk areas.

  • Monitor any garbage receptacles in the front of the hotel, in "restore" pantry at the Front Desk and in pool area to ensure they are removed on a regular basis.

  • Replace towels and remove towel bins from "Motion" regularly.

  • Restock all linen, terry, guest amenities and supplies to the guest floors as needed. Transport and store any supply deliveries.

  • Deliver miscellaneous supplies to satisfy guest requests including extra hangers, towel, etc.

  • Organize and stock cleaning carts/linen closets on assigned floors

  • Pick-up dirty and distribute clean laundry to/from housekeeping storage for immediate use

  • Responsible for moving any furniture, supplies and equipment as needed. Transport and store any supply deliveries.

  • Collects soiled linens for laundering and received and stores linen supplies in appropriate locations.

  • Vacuums floors.

  • Removes and disposes of trash.

  • Cleaning & preparation of late departure rooms.

  • Clean & preparation of rooms requiring service.

  • Assist in the laundry as needed by sorting, weighting, washing, drying, ironing and folding all hotel linen.

  • Clean other areas as required by the Housekeeper Supervisor and/or Executive housekeeper, this includes lobby or any public areas.

  • Attends monthly department meetings.

Requirements

Prior hospitality or service industry experience is preferred


Grooming

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per the specific uniform program.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full time position. Schedule will be based on rotating shifts. Weekends, nights and holidays are likely to be schedule for work. Housekeeping Attendant must be able to work schedule based on business demands, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, nights and so forth.

Physical demands:

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4-hours in length

  • Must be able to lift up to 75-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis

  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis

  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks

  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity

  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees

  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception

  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
