Job Summary

The House Attendant cleans hotel corridors, landings, stairs, delivers supplies to housekeeping associates, responds to guest requests, vacuums, cleans carpets, removes trash, mops, sweeps, and performs heavy cleaning throughout the facility.

Essential Functions, Duties, Responsibilities to be performed with or without accommodation

· Wear provided brand-standard uniform, identification, recommended footwear, and protective equipment such as gloves

· Follow safe work procedures, including company key control procedures

· Use tools and cleaning agents according to brand and operational standards

· Maintains inventories of work-related supplies and chemicals

· Checks and maintains physical condition of the facility to meet quality assurance standards

· Clean walls, doors, floors, removing dust, dirt, marks, or scuffs

· Clean mirrors, wall art, windows and sills

· Dust and wipe furniture, lighting, lobby television, and house telephones, checking all for proper operation

· Vacuum floors and carpeted areas

· Checks and maintains cleaning equipment

· Collects and removes trash both inside and outside the hotel

· Performs cleaning of hotel public areas according to schedule and procedures established by Housekeeping Supervisor

· Assists facility maintenance personnel in performing maintenance procedures.

· Adheres to all safety and security guidelines regarding equipment safety, guest safety and safe chemical handling procedures

Skill, Experience, and Competency Requirements

· Ability to clean and perform housekeeping duties in a lodging facility

· Ability to work well with others in a guest and team-focused environment

· Time Management capability to accomplish work within established parameters

· Customer Service focus to anticipate guest needs, greet and acknowledge guests, respond to guest requests, and ensure guest satisfaction

· Perseverance to complete work efficiently with attention to quality and detail

· Action Orientation to deliver the desired outcome – clean, organized and refreshed hotel public areas

Physical and Intellectual Requirements

· Ability to bend at waist and work on knees.

· Ability to reach over head.

· Ability to stand for long periods of time.

· Ability to climb stairs.

· Ability to work outside in hot or cold weather.

· Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

· Ability to push or pull cleaning equipment for extended periods of time

· Ability to read chemical labels and safety procedures

· Ability to push wheeled cart weighing 100 lbs or more

· Ability to read and / or understand cleaning product chemical labels and instructions for safe use

· Ability to comply with facility, guest, and personal safety procedures

Additional Requirements

Schedule with varying days and hours of work

Other duties as assigned by supervision
