Job description:
The primary responsibilities for this role are precision cleaning of critical environments and equipment. Cleaning, vacuuming and disinfecting of controlled rooms, laboratories and patient rooms, operating rooms and medical office facilities.
Other duties include but are not limited to: keeping building floors clean by sweeping, mopping, gathering and emptying trash, servicing and cleaning restrooms, cleaning and polishing furniture and fixtures, cleaning windows, glass partitions and mirrors, dusting furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems and perform other duties as assigned.
- Follows specific procedures to perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms, operating rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas, as well as preparing rooms for new patients.
- Uses industrial cleaning agents and equipment, following appropriate safety procedures.
- Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and vacuums.
- Moves furniture and other objects as needed in order to ensure adequate cleaning.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Demonstrates the ability to be an advocate for and strive to protect the health, safety and rights of the patient.
