HR Generalist
Job Description
The HR Generalist will be responsible for applying business knowledge and human resources expertise for a manufacturing company (two divisions) located in Elmwood Park, NJ. They will assist in providing a wide range of HR support and advice. The successful candidate will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship across the organization
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for ALL required HR State and Federal reporting i.e. EEO1 reports
· Stay current with local, State and Federal HR laws, legislation, and trends, and maintain compliance with each.
· Assist in administering various employee benefit programs, such as group insurance, 401(k), Pension plan
· Manage Employee Conflict resolution
· Advanced knowledge of ADP payroll required
· Manage leave and paid time off programs, such as disability vacation, bereavement, sick, and leave of absence and complete required paperwork/State forms
· Assist with onboarding of all new employees, such as new employee orientation, explanation of benefits, explanation of company policies, practices and procedures, verifying I-9
· Assist with compensation and benefits planning and administration including coordination of annual open enrollment, changes in coverage and reconciliation with benefit providers
· Manage development of personnel policies and procedures and maintain the employee handbook and suggest improvements
· Provide high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management.
· Develop and implement the programs to help improve the employee experience.
· Offer proactive recruiting assistance. Post open positions via on-line recruiting programs, review resumes, and schedule interviews for managers
· Maintain ongoing relationships with employment agencies to ensure the selection of the most qualified candidates.
· Research and analyze various HR scenarios for management
· Maintain an effective document system for all HR related documentation.
· Assist in creation of new employee job descriptions and maintain current job descriptions
· Manage the administration of worker’s compensation claims
· Coordinate COBRA and other benefits for terminated employees
· Responsible for salary benchmarking reports
· Perform other HR duties as assigned by management
HR Generalist skills:
· Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline.
· 5+ years’ experience in HR.
· Expertise in HR policies and procedures.
· Strong knowledge of the hiring processes.
· Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
· Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion.
· Working Knowledge of Microsoft software such as: Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
· SHRM Member a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
