Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist functions as a generalist and strategic partner to support team members and leaders, ensuring alignment of HR support with Meridell's culture and business objectives. The HR Generalist provides a range of HR support which includes employee orientation, talent acquisition, retention strategies, employee relations and communications, and development of strategies that enhance employee engagement/employer of choice goals. This role will design and implement a comprehensive recruitment program to staff the facility in a timely manner to include creating relationships with local schools, community partners, etc. Maintain the ATS/ iCIMS for accurate job postings (internally and externally), processing of candidates, conducting/scheduling interviews and making job offers. Develop relationships with department leaders and referral sources to determine open needs and successful placements. Demonstrates service excellence behaviors and conveys professionalism at all times. Demonstrates assessment, problem solving, project management, and communications skills resulting in high reliability processes and optimal outcomes. Shares accountability for and cross trains to support Human Resources services with the Director and HR Generalist.

What you’ll do:
  • You will manage full life-cycle recruitment, to include setting search strategy, actively sourcing candidates, pre-screening, interviewing and presenting qualified candidates to hiring teams, negotiating offers, and facilitating the hiring and on-boarding processes.
  • Communicates consistently and openly with hiring managers, Human Resource Director and candidates throughout the recruitment process to ensure all constituents are updated.
  • Focuses on building a great candidate and hiring manager experience during the recruitment process.
  • Sources and screens talent through passive and active candidate channels including job postings, social media, networking, internet research, and cold calling.
  • Conducts candidate screening interviews to “Profile candidates and gauge motivation” to ensure they are a fit within the Essential culture.
  • Assists with the interview process as needed, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Executes recruiting strategy, including employer promotion, candidate management, diversity sourcing, and interview process management.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Certification/Licensure:
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or CHHR certification preferred.

Professional Knowledge:
Strong oral and written communication and advanced problem solving skills. Ability to apply high reliability principles ensuring efficient, effective, customer-centered processes and services resulting in targeted outcomes. Demonstrated abilities in project planning and management. Working knowledge of employment law (federal, state, and local). Ability to multi-task with accuracy and attention to detail. Prior experience in Human Resources in a healthcare setting is preferred. Strong customer service, organizational and planning skills with a keen attention to detail.

Interpersonal Skills:
Interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative environment. Promotes mutual respect and professionalism in working relationships. Strong customer relations/customer complaint resolution skills required. Must maintain high level of confidentiality.

Equipment, Applications and Tools Knowledge:
Advanced proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Proficiency in using standard office equipment.

Travel Requirements:
Occasional to interact with staff at off-site locations and/or visit educational institutions and other recruitment sites.
