The Washington State Department of Corrections is currently seeking a highly motivated and deeply committed professional who is excited to utilize their Human Resource (HR) talent acquisition experience to assist in coordinating recruitment efforts at facilities throughout the agency. The HR Recruitment Navigator has the critical task of assisting with filling multiple vacancies through posting of recruitment announcements and outreach and technology assistance and coordination of application process with applicants.

Duties

As a Human Resource Recruitment Navigator, some of your duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Provide professional level HR support to candidates, recruiters, staff, and HR community.
    • Create and manage communication by providing updates to candidates regarding the process or status of application.
    • Provide consultation, training and support to end users as it relates to the use and access of information, tools and resources on the Recruitment and Selection SharePoint page.
  • Recruitment preparation, facilitation, and coordination of the selection process.
    • Draft and publish recruitment bulletins (NEOGOV)
    • Create requisitions and enter job postings, exam questions, and exam plans.
    • Invite potential candidates to apply to positions
    • Move candidates through the evaluation steps, review applications/resumes for qualifications and place candidates on eligible lists
    • Coordinate vetting of selected candidates
  • Tracking the hiring process
    • Monitor all current open recruitments and provide guidance and assistance to Appointing Authority and local HR to maintain hiring process timelines.
    • Utilize standardized recruitment materials within the course of recruitment and selection activities statewide to support defensible and consistent hiring practices.
  • Recruitment Marketing and Outreach
    • Maintain and assist with outreach efforts on different channels such as LinkedIn, Craigslist, WorkSource, or other forms of social media platforms.
    • Promote DOC as an employer of choice, welcoming a broad, diverse pool of qualified candidates for positions and careers.
  • Data Management
  • Other work activities as assigned

Qualifications

What we need (required qualifications):
  • High school diploma or equivalent
AND
  • At least two (2) years of office experience
AND
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Ability to establish and/or maintain data base files
    • Compile and produce materials, reports, and correspondence
    • Resolve problems and respond to inquiries regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
    • Communicate clearly and effectively
    • Customer service
    • Strong computer application skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook and calendar
What will make your application stand out (preferred qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on business, human resources, healthcare, social or organizational behavioral science, OR comparable education and/or experience
  • The ability to develop and post creative marketing for recruitment utilizing different platforms and social media
  • Experience with full life cycle recruiting for a broad range of positions
  • Intermediate level of proficiency using MS SharePoint
  • 6 months or more experience using NEOGOV
  • Understanding of laws, policies, and best practices as it pertains to human resources

  • Tuberculosis (TB) is a priority health issue for DOC employees. The successful candidate may be required to provide valid proof of a baseline TB skin test within 60 days from the date of hire. Telework Details
This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a “drop in” area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
