Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the HR Generalist will be responsible for performing and providing oversight in a variety of people (HR) functions including performance management, HRIS systems, reporting and analytics, employee relations and on-boarding of new employees.
Essential Functions

  • Ensure policies and processes are consistently administered Agency wide.
  • Support the People and Culture Department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.
  • Provide coaching and conflict resolution to managers and employees and work with the People and Culture team to make recommendations for improvement.
  • May participate and conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Process unemployment claims and participate in appeals as needed along with maintaining electronic records of cases.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • May participate in the administers the performance management process across the firm and manages continuous improvement in the overall process and systems.
  • Knowledge and Administration of all leave of absence plans such as FMLA, LOA, Worker’s Compensation
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations; existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to the requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Provides oversight to our HR Coordinator in the areas of on-boarding, off-boarding, and administration.
  • Back-up and support the recruiting process.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demand
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a sedentary role; some filing is required. The employee must have the ability to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills, lift up to 35 pounds, and bend and stand as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel
This is a full-time position. Office hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., however some flexibility of the schedule is permissible with supervisor approval. Occasional night-time or weekend work may be required. Day-time travel within the MoKan Goodwill region is required. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Qualifications
The Human Resource Generalist will be a proven leader with the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • PHR/SPHR preferred
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment law and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative, flexible style, capable of partnering with others
  • Proven capability to engage with, counsel and influence management decisions
  • Strong computer skills in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • A hands-on philosophy, with integrity and a desire to serve in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
  • Experience, commitment, and proficiency in developing talent.
  • Must have and maintain a valid license, good driving record, current automobile insurance with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel within the MoKan region.
