The unique, water-front, full service Kona Kai Resort & Spa, Marina and Private Club is located minutes from downtown San Diego on beautiful Shelter Island. We are currently seeking a dynamic Human Resources Generalist to join our team!

This role assists and supports the management and the leadership team with handling and resolving Human Resources issues. Assist employees with internal and external transfer requests and procedures. Monitor and assist managers/supervisors with hiring processes and issues. Coordinate and conduct applicant reference, background, and E-Verify checks. Maintain applicant flow and orientation. Create and maintain new hire and personnel files and enter them into the HRIS system. Assist with orientation of new employees. Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files. Support processing and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with policies and procedures, as necessary. Create and maintain filing systems. Generate Human Resources data reports as necessary, answer phone calls and record messages. Serve as Human Resources subject matter expert and participate on project teams.

• Minimum of one year experience in human resources (or related field)
• Knowledge in human resources processes
• Demonstrated knowledge of HRIS Systems and other related programs
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a timely and efficient manner and anticipate critical deadlines
• Understanding of confidentiality within the HR department
• Excellent internal and external customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize with changing situations
• Ability to recognize and solve typical problems and select solutions from established options
• Ability to work independently
• Good problem solving skills
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
