Shipco Transport Inc., a leading international cargo transportation company, has an immediate opening at our Hobokenbranch located in Hoboken, NJ for an experienced Human Resources Generalist.
As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for providing a variety of human resources services for including, but not limited to, onboarding, staff timekeeping, and policy implementation.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Coordinate all compliance requirements such as EEO-1 reporting, OSHA 500, ACA, and COBRA
- Work in conjunction with HR Manager on benefits administration (i.e. new hire enrollments, reconciling monthly invoices, benefit reporting).
- Support Leave of Absences, FMLA, and state disability processes.
- Support 401K administration to include eligibility notification and audit requests.
- Provide payroll support to include data entry of new hires/terms, final pay calculations, and act as the primary back-up for payroll processing.
- Assist with annual compensation review and performance evaluation processes.
- Create, generate, and maintain HR reports to meet organizational needs.
- Maintain employee profiles to ensure accuracy (i.e. FLSA, salary, personal information)
- Ensure inquiries from employees and supervisors are handled in a timely and appropriate manner
- Assist with all aspects of onboarding and offboarding
- Maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies, talent management, and employment law
- Support HR team with special projects and other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and a focus in related field; a minimum of four (4) years of HR experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
- SHRM Certified (Preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as HR Generalist in a fast-paced environment demonstrating knowledge of HR practices legal rules, and regulations
- Working knowledge of related state and federal regulations, filing, and compliance requirements, including COBRA, HIPAA, EEOC, FMLA, ADA, ACA, and Section 125
- Proficient experience in Microsoft Office including Word and Outlook
- Advanced experience in Excel
- ADP WorkforceNow experience required
- Must demonstrate discretion and ability to always handle and maintain confidential information
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and analytically driven
- Experience using time management skills to prioritize and organize deadlines of multiple projects
- Address concerns and issues with urgency when needed
