PURPOSE

Assists with the overall Human Resources function for Solais Paper, Inc. Provides operational direction for the human resources to the Plant Manager.

The Human Resources function includes employee relations with the objective of maintaining a union free workforce, recruitment and selection; benefit administration, and human resources compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for managing employee relations at Solaris Paper, Inc. In conjunction with the Manager, Human Resources, develop and implement key HR incentives to ensure a union free work environment that engages employees and support organizational growth.

2. Maintains awareness of legislation human resources in the State of CA and updates management as needed.

3. Conducts thorough investigations, documents finding and reviews all information prior to making decisions in the best interest of employees and the company.

4. Maintains employee handbook for the mill.

5. Maintains EEOC reporting

6. Recruits for opening that occur at Solaris Paper and assures that open positions are filled on a timely basis. Assists with new hire orientation.

7. Works with management of Solaris Paper to ensure performance reviews are completed on time.

8. Administers compensation and benefit programs that are applicable to Mercury Paper.

9. Ensures job descriptions are prepared and kept for current for all positions.

10. Maintains records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hire, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism.

11. Other duties as assigned

Works with Solaris Paper’s management team and plant, administrative, and HR team

Works with payroll provider- ADP

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Background:
BA/BS Degree in Human Resources or related field

A minimum of 7 years progressive HR work experience

PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred

Experience in manufacturing a plus

Skills and Knowledge:

Fully computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to establish rapport at all levels of organization

Ability to keep confidential information secure

Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)

Ability to make independent decisions and to accurately assess situations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Must be able to perform general office functions, operate a computer, lift up to 20 pounds, and communicate effectively with internal and external constituencies

Pay: $65,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
