The HR Site Leader in West Jefferson, North Carolina will be responsible for providing the full scope of HR advice, guidance, and support across a non-union manufacturing population of approximately 300 employees. Essential Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and expertise for the full scope of Human Resource (HR) including all aspects of employee relations, leadership coaching and development, total rewards, employee involvement, performance management, career development, and organizational change
- Be an active leader in the Lean Transformation Culture across all functions
- Act as an impartial advocate to ensure that all individuals receive fair and equitable treatment
- Ensure all employee relations matters are properly identified, reported, investigated and resolved
- Provide advice and counsel to leadership to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, performance management/discipline, procedures and practices
- Conduct annual reviews of organizational design, build succession plans and a solid talent pipeline, along with driving strategic workforce planning for the site
- Facilitate communications throughout the organization to promote awareness and drive positive employee relations
- Provide support or deliver training on a variety of HR topics on an as needed basis
- Develop appropriate Human Resource plans in support of key business needs in a dynamic, changing environment and develop / implement appropriate change management plans, as required
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related area
- Minimum 5 years prior professional work experience in Human Resources (can include internships)
Desired Characteristics
- Master's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Labor Relations or Business Administration from an accredited college or university
- 8 years prior professional experience in Human Resources (can include internships)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong coaching skills with the ability to facilitate to solutions
- Problem solver with the ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast paced environment
- Employee advocate with demonstrated ability to build relationships across all levels
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Sound knowledge of local labor laws and government requirements
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
