Areas of Responsibility:

  • Technical Service Requirements

o Must possess a 4-year degree on HVAC and a valid Class II license

o Must be able to detect operational defects or faults in various kinds of HVAC equipment

  • Responds to both customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipment immediately

o Maintains maintenance log book to record the equipment in need of repair and prioritizes efforts accordingly

o Communicates maintenance issues and needed repairs to other shifts as necessary

  • Maintains rooms in operating condition by performing repairs as needed

o Understands the Room Preventative Maintenance Program (R.P.M.)

o Repairs and maintains heating/ventilating/air conditioning systems throughout the hotel

o Maintains room PTAC units in operating condition by performing repairs as needed or by changing out the room unit with a spare unit

o Responds and attends to guestroom repair requests

  • Performs preventative maintenance throughout the hotel

o Maintains operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairs

o Performs troubleshooting of hotel HVAC systems

o Attends schools or seminars upon manager’s request to remain current on proper techniques and required licensing

  • Adheres to all hotel policies and safety procedures

o Follows safety and security rules and procedures

o Demonstrates knowledge in the safe use of all maintenance tools and equipment

o Reports any hazards or injuries in the department or hotel and takes immediate action to correct

Ability to perform considerable amounts of physical activity on a continual basis
